History

Epsilon Mu was a originally a local fraternity, Phi Beta Rho, at the Arkansas State Teachers College, now the University of Central Arkansas. Phi Beta Rho became the 12th chapter of Phi Sigma Epsilon in March of 1935 owing much of its success to a highly motivated young man, Shannon Flowers. The Chapter thrived at UCA for next 55 years and participated in the merger of 1985 where it took its current name, Epsilon Mu.

The Epsilon is significant to the fact that the Chapter traces its roots to Phi Sigma Epsilon. In 1994, the Chapter had its Charter revoked by the Grand Chapter. A Period of eight years passed until the induction of 14 Associate Members into the Phi Sigma Kappa Brotherhood started a revolution in the Greek life system. The Colony Associated seven more members by April 27, 2000, when finally the Chapter was rechartered by 22 young men on April 22, 2002. Today the Chapter is a growing force at the University of Central Arkansas.
