Grand Chapter
From PhiSigWiki
The Grand Chapter is the national governing body of Phi Sigma Kappa.
History
The Grand Chapter was created in June of 1878 in response to the growing need for organization among the graduated members of the Alpha chapter (known then as 'Pi Chapter'). Also, the formation of the Grand Chapter was necessary for the fraternity to become national and confer charters in other institutions.
Howe and Baker were on the committee which drew up the constitution, in which the objects of the Grand Chapter were declared to be "to watch over the interests of the Phi Sigma Kappa, grant new charters and amend the society constitution when necessary." It's purpose essentialy remains the same to this day.
Organization
The Grand Chapter is governed by the Grand President and the Grand Council. The Grand President and Council appoint an Executive Director to oversee the day to day business of the fraternity and to hire staff members for the International Headquarters.
